As the eldest son of an eldest son…going back seven generations…I’ve become a genealogist who’d had the fortunate assistance/advantage of family photos, records and insights shared with me (and that of my wife’s wonderful family) by dearly-missed generations. Composed during the wee hours of sleepless nights when I’m not at a public hearing's presentation, or red-lining blueprints for the next RDG workday, I’ve humbly amassed a private file of approximately 2,800 confirmed family identities. Each name has its own respective datum of kept stored and password-locked on my Mac laptop. Where and when possible, I’ve created a portrait shot for each family member so they can smile back every time I open this program. As heart-warming as that visual recognition is, nothing is more delightful than updating such records to include new generations whose births expand the size of this file, exponentially. All to assure a future eldest child might readily appreciate their heritage as much as their inheritance.
